# Clear your rating of an answer

> Remove the rating you gave one answer in a conversation you started. Clearing a rating that is not there succeeds, so the request is safe to repeat.

Removes your own rating of one answer, and its note with it. The request is idempotent: clearing an answer you never rated returns the same `204`. It removes only the caller's rating, never someone else's.

The rules are the ones for [rating](/api-reference/conversations/rate-message). You can clear only in a conversation you started, and only on an answer: a question returns `400`. A conversation that does not exist, belongs to another organization or was started by someone else returns `404`, and so does a message that is not in it or a malformed ID. A credential that cannot send messages gets `403`.
